Spotted: lacrosse in Luge, Halo, and March Madness? Editor’s note: Welcome to another installment of “ Spotted ,” where we shine a light on lacrosse spotted in unexpected places, such as on TV, in a movie, or even in real life. Be sure to drop us a line if you spot the beautiful sport of lacrosse in a place you didn’t expect. It has been a while since we’ve had a Spotted and there have been multiple new sightings! All of these are unique ones we have never had in a previous edition either. One is related to a video game, another is great publicity for a team; and the last one is from out of the blue. Definitely all worth checking out and interesting for different reasons. The 1st Annual USA Luge Run of the Balls, interesting title for an event I must say. None the less it is great for two reasons, it helps raise funds for lacrosse players and teams in the area as well as having lots and lots of lacrosse balls rolling down a luge track. On March 25th in Lake Placid, the balls were dropped down the Olympic track and raced for the bottom. The first five balls to finish and the last one all received varying cash prizes from $100-$500. Hopefully this event continues to happen every year and allows more and more kids to play the game of lacrosse!
